Juliana, my wife. Or soon to be. We're engaged to be married in Singapore (where her family is).
We had known of each other for quite sometime, but nothing really happened until one day something just
clicked and it became so obvious. After
that we started to talk more seriously, about the future, to see if we may end up together. Things were unbelieveably
going well, so the next step was to co-ordinate with the families.
Her dad is awesome, an incredibly nice guy who is really easy to talk
to. So we had some serious discussions, where I basically asked her dad if I could marry his daughter. He asked
me some questions, told what his requirements for Juliana's future are, and asked if I could fulfill that. I said
that it's really apparent that Juliana grew up in a stable and loving family, and that I promise to continue where
they leave off. We shook hands, and he offered his blessings.

Of course I had to continue my California Brainwashing
Machine and tried to convince everyone (her family and friends) to come to California. But pitched that mainly to her parents, as her dad is in business, and the United States' economic structure is geared towards business. So is Singapore's (as they have no natural resource), but the cost of living there is insane. More importantly though, Juliana's family has an extremely strong
bond. She has almost a telepathic link to her mom, where they are so close, that they are best friends. So having
her family near by would make me happy, because it would make her happy.

I do have to admit that it was her beauty that first caught my eye. But it was
the beauty that I discovered inside that drew me. Her compassion, understanding, empathy, and goodness
of heart. An overall lovely personality that is a delight to experience.
She completes me. Something about her, her existance alone has brought peace to my
mind. Poetic verses flow once again in my head, so naturally, that I can write pages at a time without
stopping or having to think about what comes next. Somehow she enables me to be more than I normally
am, with her I am empowered. She is my fire, and my fuel. The missing peace to my puzzle, the part
of me that I have searched for all my life, and have finally found.

Juliana was born and raised in Singapore (July 29th, 1973). Her father is originally from
Sindh (Hyderabad) Pakistan and his family moved to Singapore when he was very young. Her mother is half
Indonesian and half Indian. The name Juliana is Latin for "youthful", but the name was chosen because she
was born in the month of July. The middle name Leonita is also Latin and stands for "lioness" (yes, she'll be
wearing the pants in the relationship, I'm a wimp), but was named after her astrological sign. She has various
nicknames including Jewels, and Mariam. She has two younger brothers, Amir (10) and Nimran (3).
Juliana was going to study computer
science in England, but parents wished for her to study locally, where she studied Marketing and Business. Her
career goal is that she likes talking to people, and being involved with the sales and marketing of products but
likes to have a technical flavor to it (she knows how to program and stuff). She has been working on completing
her MBA degree at UC Davis.
With her dad she's travelled to all these cool places around the world (Brazil,
Estonia, NY, Austria, Italy, France, Etc...), I think this picture
is in Tallinn, Estonia (June 1999). Visiting clients and contacts, and all that business stuff.

Of course she does some leisure travel too, with her friends, where they've been to San Francisco
(note the picture of her friend and herself posing with some fat guy in a bear suit) and Chicago. I used to think
she had a British accent (Singapore is primarily English from the British occupation), but it's really a mixture
of Malaysian + British. When she and her friends get together, that accent is really geared towards highspeed
communication, I can barely understand what they're saying. :)

Sometimes I can't believe my luck. When I see her, or see her pictures, and look at her
eyes and realize that this is the person I'm going to be spending the rest of my entire life with. There
once was a point where I accepted that being alone was what was in store for me. But now the future is
bright and alive.
We'll be getting married on Sept 24th - 1999, with two receptions following that, and a Walima
sometime in June 2000.
One person at work said something that made me happy, "how come you're smiling all the time lately?" I feel
like the luckiest guy in the world, I'm honoured and priviledged to be the guy in Juliana's life.
